NDA leaders criticized Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP national convener, for announcing the construction of a grand temple dedicated to Mata Sita and Luv and Kush in Amritsar. Kejriwal made this declaration during an event in Punjab, accompanied by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
BJP MP Manan Kumar Mishra expressed disapproval, stating that Kejriwal’s sudden religious initiatives were a ploy for electoral gains. Mishra highlighted Kejriwal’s past stance on the Ram Mandir issue and predicted electoral losses for him.
In contrast, BJP national spokesperson RP Singh welcomed Kejriwal’s temple proposal, noting a shift in Kejriwal’s approach towards religious projects. JD-U leader Neeraj Kumar, however, criticized Kejriwal for the delayed announcement, emphasizing Bihar’s prior initiatives in this regard.
Shiv Sena leader Raju Waghmare accused Kejriwal of engaging in electoral politics by promoting temple construction in Punjab. Similarly, Uttar Pradesh Congress in-charge Rajendra Pal Gautam accused Kejriwal of aligning with the BJP’s agenda, suggesting that smaller parties like AAP serve to divide votes.
