Several NDA leaders condemned the Opposition for an incident in the Lok Sabha where women MPs surrounded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s seat. BJP’s Dharmshila Gupta called it unfortunate and accused the Opposition of using women MPs to target the Prime Minister, labeling it an insult to democratic traditions. She emphasized PM Modi’s efforts for women empowerment and criticized the Opposition for disrespecting Parliament and the nation’s democracy.
Telugu Desam Party’s Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu expressed disappointment over the use of posters and placards in the House, urging the Opposition to maintain decorum and tradition within the parliamentary setting. Union Minister Giriraj Singh accused the Congress of intentionally disrupting Parliamentary proceedings, labeling their actions as pre-planned and aimed at causing disruption. BJP’s Manoj Tiwari also voiced concern, stating that while protests are acceptable, physically obstructing the Prime Minister’s entry was unacceptable and did not align with healthy Parliamentary opposition.
The incident has heightened political tensions in Parliament, with the ruling NDA alliance criticizing the Opposition for undermining Parliamentary dignity and democratic norms.
