NDA leaders expressed strong disapproval of statements made by Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, regarding Bihar’s political situation and former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary questioned the seriousness and clarity of Gandhi’s remarks, highlighting a perceived lack of political understanding. He criticized Gandhi’s stance on various issues, including women’s reservation and parliamentary decorum.
In a separate response, Bihar Minister Ram Kripal Yadav refuted Gandhi’s claim that Nitish Kumar resigned due to pressure from the BJP. Yadav emphasized that Kumar’s decision to step down was independent and not influenced by external forces. He dismissed Gandhi’s accusation, stating that the Congress Party has a history of exerting pressure for political gains.
The political tension arose following Rahul Gandhi’s criticism of Nitish Kumar at a rally in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Gandhi accused Kumar of being compromised and alleged BJP’s control over him. He pointed out the perceived weakening of Kumar’s political position post-resignation as Chief Minister and subsequent Rajya Sabha nomination. Gandhi’s remarks have sparked a heated exchange of allegations between the Congress and the BJP-led alliance in Bihar.
