The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) marked 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led Union government by emphasizing governance achievements, political expansion, and national transformation. Narendra Modi has set a record as the longest-serving democratically elected Prime Minister, surpassing a historical benchmark with 4,399 days in office. The NDA described the last 12 years as focused on people-centric development, participative democracy, and performance-oriented governance under the vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas”.
India’s economic transformation was credited to structural reforms like GST, labor reforms, banking sector clean-up, and ease-of-doing-business measures. The country shifted from the “Fragile Five” narrative to being one of the fastest-growing major economies. The resolution also highlighted India’s leadership in the digital and innovation sectors, citing achievements in areas like Unified Payments Interface (UPI), digital public infrastructure, and growth drivers such as Startup India and emerging sectors like semiconductors and renewable energy.
Major infrastructure development characterized the past 12 years, with significant progress in railways, highways, airports, and multimodal hubs. Notable projects included Vande Bharat trains, the UDAN aviation scheme, PM Gati Shakti, and project acceleration worth nearly Rs 90 lakh crore. The NDA claimed success in social upliftment and poverty reduction, stating that over 25 crore people have moved out of multidimensional poverty due to welfare initiatives focusing on housing, banking, insurance, and direct benefit transfer systems.
The NDA resolution highlighted empowerment initiatives for women and farmers, such as ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’, Self-Help Groups, Drone Didi, and PM-Kisan. It also mentioned legislative efforts like the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam and expanded agricultural support systems. National security and defense reforms were underscored, including surgical strikes, air strikes, Operation Sindoor, the creation of the Chief of Defense Staff, ‘One Rank One Pension’ implementation, and the expansion of indigenous defense manufacturing under ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India).
India’s global rise was emphasized, with recognition for PM Modi through 32 international honors, leadership in Covid-19 vaccine diplomacy, promotion of yoga and millets, and increased diplomatic outreach. The NDA also highlighted its expansion and political reach across states and regions, now governing areas encompassing more than three-fourths of India’s population and territory, solidifying its position as a significant national political force.
