New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Vice Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal recently took part in a tree plantation event organized by the Central Government RWA, North West Moti Bagh. The program, named #EkPedMaaKeNaam, saw the participation of local residents, RWA representatives, and NDMC officers and staff.
During the event, participants planted saplings in honor of their mothers, highlighting themes of environmental conservation and social responsibility. Chahal engaged with residents and RWA representatives to address concerns related to civic amenities and development issues, promising swift action by the NDMC departments.
Chahal emphasized that #EkPedMaaKeNaam is more than just a tree plantation initiative; it symbolizes a broader movement for environmental awareness and sustainability. He announced that similar tree plantation programs will be held every Sunday across different locations within the NDMC area, with various departments working together to ensure the well-being of the planted saplings.
Encouraging public involvement, Chahal urged citizens to actively care for the saplings and support the environmental cause. He also called on residents and RWAs to provide water bowls for birds during the summer months, emphasizing the importance of creating a safe environment for all living beings.
