There is a call for a comprehensive strategy to narrow the technology gap by enhancing digital inclusion, boosting innovation capabilities, and enhancing technology readiness of MSMEs for their seamless integration into global and regional value chains. This message was conveyed during the second ‘SME Working Group Meeting’ organized by the Ministry of MSME as part of the ‘BRICS Partnership on the New Industrial Revolution (PartNIR)’ in New Delhi.
The meeting witnessed active involvement from BRICS Member Countries, serving as a platform to exchange experiences and best practices, emphasizing the pivotal role of MSMEs in fostering economic growth, creating employment opportunities, driving innovation, and promoting inclusive development.
Discussions underscored the necessity of a multi-faceted strategy to bridge the technology gap by promoting digital inclusivity, strengthening innovation capacities, and enhancing technology preparedness of MSMEs to facilitate their integration into global and regional value chains.
The gathering also reaffirmed the significance of enhanced cooperation among BRICS nations in terms of technology access, fostering innovation ecosystems, and enhancing skill development for MSMEs.
