The body of a NEET aspirant from Madhya Pradesh, missing for six days, was discovered in a canal in Rajasthan’s Baran district. Identified as 23-year-old Lokesh Dangi from Rajgarh district, Madhya Pradesh, he had been preparing for the NEET exam in Kota for five years. The body, severely decomposed due to water exposure, was found nearly 50 kilometers away from where he was swept away in Kota.
Locals near a railway bridge in Anta spotted the body stuck in a tree in the canal and alerted the authorities. After post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to Lokesh’s family. He was identified based on his clothing and physical features. CCTV footage showed Lokesh heading towards the canal after leaving his hostel on February 17, with his belongings later found near the Chambal Canal.
Living in Kota for exam preparation, Lokesh went missing on February 17, prompting a search operation by police and SDRF teams along the canal. Despite initial searches yielding no results, his body was eventually recovered in Baran district on the sixth day. Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances of his death based on the postmortem report and other evidence.
