A Delhi court has remanded Manisha Gurunath Mandhare, a suspect in the NEET paper leak case, to 14-day CBI custody. Mandhare, a senior Botany teacher from Pune appointed by NTA, is suspected to be a key figure in the Biology question paper leak. The court heard that she collaborated with others in the conspiracy, including providing the question paper to an accomplice named Shubham.
The CBI mentioned during the court proceedings that Mandhare, along with other suspects, had access to the leaked question paper. The defense raised concerns over the legality of Mandhare’s arrest, highlighting the timing and manner of her apprehension. Despite this, the court allowed Mandhare to have brief daily meetings with her counsel.
According to the CBI statement, Mandhare was deeply involved in the NEET-UG 2026 Examination process and had facilitated the leak by sharing questions with students during coaching sessions. The investigative agency conducted searches at multiple locations, seizing incriminating documents and electronic devices. The case, initiated based on a complaint from the Ministry of Education, has led to the arrest of several suspects across different cities.
