After the National Testing Agency (NTA) set the re-examination date for the NEET-UG 2026 on June 21, students are worried that the upcoming test might be more challenging due to past paper leaks. They feel the need to enhance their mental strength and study harder to tackle the test successfully. Amrit Gehlot, expressing concerns, hopes for no recurrence of a paper leak during the re-exam to avoid the risk of losing a year and incurring additional expenses.
Students, particularly those from Economically Weaker Sections, find such situations challenging. Gehlot emphasized the financial strain on families due to the need for travel, accommodation, and coaching classes in case of a re-leak. Yogita mentioned that the confidence of students was shaken by the news of the previous leak, impacting their preparation and outlook for the upcoming exam.
Varsha, an aspirant, highlighted the necessity for students to strengthen themselves mentally and intensify their preparation efforts for the re-exam. She acknowledged the expected difficulty but emphasized the importance of perseverance. Akshit Kumar, disappointed by the previous leak, expressed the desire to perform well in the re-exam and secure admission to a reputable medical college.
The students also criticized certain coaching institutes for their alleged involvement in the repeated paper leaks. The NTA had earlier canceled the NEET exam, affecting the 22.79 lakh candidates registered for the test this year. The NTA’s decision to reschedule the exam to June 21 followed irregularities in the May 3, 2026, examination.
