Actor Siddharth, Jimmy Shergill, Dia Mirza, and Adil Hussain will star in the upcoming military drama series “Operation Safed Sagar,” set to debut globally on Netflix on August 7. Directed by Oni Sen, the show is inspired by the challenging wartime operations of the Indian Air Force during the 1999 Kargil War. It focuses on the Golden Arrows Squadron and their remarkable courage and sacrifices.
The series, created by Abhijeet Singh Parmar and Kushal Srivastava, also features Abhay Verma, Prajakta Koli, Mihir Ahuja, Taaruk Raina, Arnav Bhasin, and Amrita Bagchi. Sanjay Routray of Matchbox Shots LLP emphasized the importance of bringing to life stories like “Operation Safed Sagar,” which highlight heroism driven by duty and sacrifice. The series aims to balance large-scale military action with personal moments of heroism.
Producers Abhijeet Singh Parmar and Mehboob Pal Singh Brar from Feel Good Films were drawn to the project by the opportunity to delve into the world of Air Force pilots, exploring themes of friendship, sacrifice, leadership, and tough decisions. Tanya Bami, Series Head at Netflix India, expressed that the series is a tribute to the courage and sacrifice of The Golden Arrows, showcasing the Indian Air Force’s role in the Kargil War.
