Netherlands all-rounder Colin Ackermann reflected on his team’s batting struggles in the recent T20 World Cup match against Pakistan. Ackermann acknowledged the need to address batting inconsistencies and improve partnerships in upcoming games, starting with their match against Namibia. Despite a strong start against Pakistan, Netherlands faltered in the final overs, failing to reach the expected total.

Ackermann highlighted the team’s potential for higher scores and emphasized the importance of all-rounders in deepening the batting lineup. He mentioned the missed opportunities in the game, including a crucial dropped catch by opener Max O’Dowd. Ackermann stressed the significance of improving performance in key moments to secure victories in the tournament.

Looking ahead, Ackermann shared insights from head coach Ryan Cook, who urged the team to focus on the next game against Namibia and learn from past experiences. Ackermann expressed confidence in the team’s abilities to bounce back and compete effectively in the remaining matches. He also praised the addition of psychologist Tom Dawson-Squibb to the coaching staff for enhancing player performance off the field.
