Five new Solar Community Hub Skill Vans were recently launched in India to enhance digital access and skill development. Developed by Dell Technologies in partnership with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and executed by the Learning Links Foundation, this initiative is part of Dell’s global mission to bridge the digital gap through technology-driven learning. The vans will be stationed in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR, Karnataka, Telangana, and Maharashtra, offering solar-powered technology, AI-based learning tools, and job-focused training to youth, women, and underserved communities.
Each van is equipped with laptops, interactive screens, internet connectivity, and renewable energy systems, providing tailored skilling modules and structured employability pathways. The program aims to support over 50 vocational, higher education, and community institutions with technology-enabled learning. Minister Jayant Chaudhary emphasized the importance of these Solar Community Hub Skill Vans in democratizing technology and opportunities nationwide.
These skill vans serve as more than just digital learning spaces; they are hubs of aspiration, integrating clean energy, AI-driven education, and industry-aligned skilling to prepare young individuals for upcoming job prospects. Manish Gupta, President and Managing Director of Dell Technologies India, highlighted the initiative’s role in fostering inclusive, technology-led progress and showcasing the power of collaboration among the government, industry, and communities.
The primary goal of the skill vans is to equip a new cohort of learners for future employment opportunities by providing training within their localities. Since the inception of the first Solar Community Hub Skill Vans in FY23, the program has made a significant impact, reaching 18 districts across 14 states and benefiting 2.67 million individuals. Globally, this initiative operates 63 skill vans in 12 countries.
