The Howrah–Kamakhya–Howrah Vande Bharat Sleeper Express, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 17, has seen a remarkable response from travelers, highlighting its appeal for tourism and long-distance journeys, as per railway officials. The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Chief Public Relations Officer mentioned that the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express, running between Howrah and Kamakhya, has been operating with over 100% occupancy since its commercial run began. The train’s popularity is evident from the high demand for comfortable travel and reduced travel time.
The occupancy levels for the Howrah–Kamakhya Vande Bharat Sleeper Express have consistently exceeded 100%, with the train witnessing significant patronage across all classes. The preference for this premium sleeper service underscores the strong tourism potential it holds, especially for travelers from South Bengal heading towards North Bengal and Assam. The Vande Bharat Sleeper Express stands out for its speed, reduced travel duration, comfortable berths, and overall onboard comfort, offering a superior travel experience compared to other modes of transportation.
