Bella James, who replaced Plimmer during the T20Is, will continue as her replacement for the ODI series. James, who debuted in ODIs against Australia in December 2024, is seen as a suitable replacement due to her extensive List-A cricket experience. Nensi Patel and Izzy Sharp are also included in the squad, with the potential for their ODI debuts. Patel impressed with five wickets in the T20Is against Zimbabwe, while Sharp showcased her skills with the bat.
The upcoming three ODIs starting from March 5 are part of the ICC Women’s Championship cycle. The New Zealand ODI squad against Zimbabwe includes a mix of experienced players like Melie Kerr and newcomers like Izzy Sharp and Nensi Patel.
