Legendary New Zealand cricketers Jeremy Coney and Haidee Tiffen have been honored with induction into the NZC Hall of Fame, marking the first additions since the “First Eleven” was introduced last summer. Coney, who captained the New Zealand men’s team during the 1980s “Golden Era,” and Tiffen, a prominent all-rounder from 1999 to 2009, are the latest inductees.
Haidee Tiffen, a key figure in New Zealand women’s cricket, made her debut at 19 in 1999 and played 128 international matches, with 53 as captain. She notably led her team to the 2000 World Cup victory on home soil and the 2009 World Cup final in Australia.
Jeremy Coney, known for his exceptional skills in batting, bowling, fielding, and leadership, guided the New Zealand men’s team to three historic Test series wins in 1985 and 1986. His remarkable performances, including a memorable Test century against England in 1984, solidified his reputation as a resilient player.
