New Zealand and UAE will compete at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday for the 11th match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Both teams are in Group D with Afghanistan, South Africa, and Canada. While this will be New Zealand’s second match, it marks the beginning of UAE’s campaign.
In their previous T20I encounters, New Zealand has won two out of three matches against UAE. The teams clashed in a three-match series in August 2023, where New Zealand emerged victorious 2-1. The Kiwis won the first match by 19 runs, posting 155/6 with notable performances from Tim Seifert and Cole McConchie.
The UAE fought back in the second T20I, securing a 7-wicket win to level the series. New Zealand claimed the series victory with a 32-run win in the third T20I. Both teams have won two of their last five T20Is, with New Zealand having the upper hand in momentum after a recent win against Afghanistan.
