A newly married woman in Bihar’s Vaishali district was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances, leading to serious accusations against her in-laws. The incident took a disturbing turn when her body was allegedly left outside her parental home in Pedia Bazar locality during the night, with the involvement of a vehicle registered to a police sub-inspector. The family reported that individuals arrived in a black Scorpio vehicle around 12.30 a.m., dropped the woman’s body at her parents’ doorstep, and quickly departed.
Chaos ensued when the family found the body the next morning, with CCTV footage capturing the entire event, showing the individuals arriving in the Scorpio and abandoning the body. The local police station confirmed the incident, stating that the vehicle used had been seized, and an investigation is ongoing. The case gained more attention when it was revealed that the Scorpio belonged to a police sub-inspector named Santosh Rajak, causing embarrassment to the police department.
Authorities are now looking into whether the sub-inspector had any direct involvement or if his vehicle was misused without his knowledge. The deceased woman’s father mentioned that his daughter, Sarita, had been married for nine months and alleged that despite providing dowry, her in-laws demanded more money, leading to continuous harassment. The family claims that Sarita was killed due to this ongoing demand for additional funds.
The father highlighted a visible strangulation mark on her neck and demanded severe punishment for the husband and his family, condemning the incident as not just a crime but a stain on society. Following the father’s complaint, an FIR has been filed against five individuals, including the husband, and the body has been taken for a post-mortem examination. Police are actively pursuing leads from the CCTV footage and are committed to making arrests soon.
