The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a supplementary chargesheet in the 2025 Vizianagaram ISIS terror conspiracy case. The accused, Arif Hussain alias Abu Talib and Imran Akram, face charges under various acts including the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Initially registered at Vizianagaram Police Station, the case saw the apprehension of Siraz Ur Rahiman and Syed Sameer, who were charge-sheeted by NIA in November 2025.
Imran Akram, who remains at large, was found to be involved in funding terror activities for the procurement of explosive materials. Arif Hussain, arrested in August 2025, had conspired with Siraz to supply weapons for terrorist acts, engaging in illegal weapon transportation and promoting extremist ideology on social media. NIA’s investigation is ongoing in this matter.
Siraz Ur Rahiman and Syed Sameer, arrested in May 2025, were charged with radicalizing youth through social media for potential terrorist attacks. The NIA, taking over from Andhra Pradesh Police, gathered evidence showing their ISIS-inspired activities aimed at inciting violence and anti-national sentiments among Indian youth.
