The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is currently conducting raids in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, in connection with a case involving alleged terror links. The searches are focused on the Vinchipeta area and are part of an investigation recently taken over by the NIA. Earlier arrests in April included individuals from Vijayawada, Hyderabad, and Bellary, who were allegedly planning terror activities in India.

NIA officials are now searching the residences of the accused to determine if they had connections with other individuals or organizations. The accused, who were reportedly working to expand the activities of AQIS and ISIS in India under the direction of a foreign handler named Al-Hakeem Shukoor, had formed a group called ‘Al-Malik Islamic Youth’. They admitted to having Jihadi tendencies, which were further influenced after contact with Shukoor through social media.

The accused confessed that they were attempting to expand AQIS and ISIS operations in India and incite youth to carry out suicide attacks. They created Instagram and Telegram groups named ‘BENX COM’ to recruit members willing to engage in terror activities. The accused were allegedly in contact with Pakistanis who were to supply arms and explosives for subversive activities in India, as directed by Shukoor.
