Niki Prasad, the captain who led India to victory in the 2025 U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, finds inspiration in the senior women’s team’s remarkable 270-run win against England in the first women’s Test at Lord’s. This historic triumph saw Yastika Bhatia scoring a century, the first by a woman in a Test at Lord’s, and Kranti Gaud claiming a five-wicket haul.

Sneh Rana’s four-wicket haul in the second innings secured India’s second-largest Test win by runs and their fourth-largest Test victory overall. Niki Prasad expressed admiration for the senior team’s performance, especially after transitioning from T20 to Test cricket, a format less familiar to Indian players.

Niki, supported by JSW Sports, highlighted the growing emphasis on red-ball cricket in India, mentioning the inclusion of multi-day tournaments and specialized camps at the BCCI CoE in Bengaluru. She believes this focus on red-ball cricket has already shown positive results, as evidenced by India’s historic win at Lord’s.

Niki shared her upcoming plans, including a month-long camp at the CoE starting in August and a busy schedule with the India A team. She looks forward to honing her skills across formats in the camp, preparing for future domestic and international competitions over the next six months.
