NITI Aayog commemorated the 12th International Day of Yoga with the theme ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’, emphasizing yoga’s benefits for physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Vice Chairman Ashok Kumar Lahiri, along with NITI Aayog officials, participated in meditation, pranayama, and yoga activities to observe the day. The event highlighted yoga’s role in promoting vitality, resilience, and healthy ageing, underscoring its importance for overall well-being.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leading the national International Day of Yoga event in Kolkata, praised the enthusiastic participation across different age groups. He stressed the importance of incorporating yoga into daily routines for maintaining fitness, mental health, and overall well-being. PM Modi highlighted the theme ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’ as a crucial message for people to stay active and healthy throughout their lives.
