Union Minister Nitin Gadkari visited and inspected the first ‘Rest-Hold Area’ along the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor route in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh. The National Highways Authority of India officials briefed him on the facilities at the rest stop. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the corridor, with plans to review a wildlife corridor and visit a Kali temple in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand respectively.
Residents of Shamli are optimistic about the economic corridor, anticipating increased local employment opportunities and improved connectivity. Anil Pundhir, a local resident, highlighted the potential for job creation and reduced travel time between Delhi and Dehradun. Locals expressed enthusiasm for the project, praising the government’s initiative and its anticipated benefits for the region.
The upcoming inauguration of the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor has generated excitement among locals, who foresee enhanced travel convenience and economic development. The project is expected to facilitate easier access between Delhi and Dehradun, benefiting not only the two cities but also nearby towns and rural areas. The corridor’s completion is projected to reduce travel time between the two cities from nearly six hours to approximately two-and-a-half hours, promoting regional connectivity and economic growth.
