Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s announcement of his intention to join the Rajya Sabha has triggered speculation about a potential leadership shift in Bihar. The Leader of Opposition, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, has strongly opposed this move, alleging that the BJP is pushing for Kumar’s exit from the Chief Minister’s position. Yadav emphasized that the people of Bihar are against this change in power.
Tejashwi Yadav also claimed that the BJP’s motive behind forming a government with Nitish Kumar in 2024 was to weaken the Janata Dal (United). He accused the BJP of attempting to undermine the JD(U) and asserted that the public sentiment does not support a leadership transition. RJD Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha criticized Nitish Kumar’s social media post about his Rajya Sabha plans, suggesting that it did not align with Kumar’s usual communication style.
Jha highlighted that the announcement has stirred significant political activity in Patna, with expectations of a new Chief Minister being clarified soon. Nitish Kumar, in his social media post, expressed gratitude to the people of Bihar for their trust and support, signaling his forthcoming exit from the Chief Minister’s role.
