US President Donald Trump is growing impatient with Senate Republicans for delaying his election integrity legislation, as per the White House. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized Trump’s desire for swift action following the House’s approval of budget legislation containing key elements of the SAVE America Act. Trump aims to see significant progress on the Save America Act before the August recess, aligning with the preferences of American voters.

Leavitt highlighted Trump’s recent campaign-style event where his call for voter identification received strong public backing. The President’s emphasis on voter ID and proof of citizenship in elections resonated with the audience, reflecting common sense to many Americans. The White House stressed that Republicans, elected with a mandate to enhance election regulations, should move forward promptly on this issue.

Leavitt addressed concerns about non-citizens on voter rolls in New Jersey and the possibility of election officials facing legal consequences. While refraining from discussing potential prosecutions, she directed inquiries regarding legal actions to the Justice Department. Leavitt commended New Jersey’s acknowledgment of non-citizens on voter rolls, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the integrity of American elections.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has requested states, including New Jersey, to identify and remove non-citizens registered to vote, according to Leavitt. She underscored the administration’s commitment to prioritizing the passage of the SAVE America Act, emphasizing its strong support among the American populace. The White House also defended Republican efforts to ensure continued federal government funding amid ongoing spending negotiations.
