The Rajasthan Legislative Assembly in Jaipur discussed the issue of noise pollution caused by loudspeakers on mosques. BJP MLA Balmukund Acharya emphasized the disruptive impact of high-volume loudspeakers on students, senior citizens, and patients. He called for strict enforcement of sound limits to address the early morning noise disturbances.
Acharya highlighted that the loudspeakers on several mosques in Jaipur operate at very high volumes, starting as early as 4 am. This noise disrupts the studies of school children and negatively affects the elderly and the sick. He pointed out that the excessive noise violates citizens’ rights by disturbing sleep and mental peace.
The MLA stressed the serious health implications of continuous noise pollution, especially in densely populated residential areas. He urged the state government to intervene and ensure uniform compliance with sound regulations at all religious sites. Acharya demanded immediate administrative action to regulate the volume of loudspeakers and enforce permissible sound limits under existing laws.
The issue of noise pollution, particularly during early morning and late-night hours, gained attention in the Assembly. It was discussed in the context of broader concerns over urban noise disturbances.
