North East Delhi Police have organized extensive security and civic measures for Eid al-Adha, with approximately 1,100 police officers stationed throughout the district to oversee peaceful festivities and efficient public service management. Deputy Commissioner of Police Rahul Alwal stated that detailed planning has been executed by the district administration for the occasion, including the identification of key religious sites and collaboration with various civic agencies to uphold law and order and public convenience.
Alwal mentioned, “We have made detailed arrangements. In our area, there are a total of 278 mosques. Apart from that, we have identified several major and sensitive mosques — 27 major mosques and 22 sensitive mosques. In addition, there are Eidgah grounds as well, and accordingly, we have identified 55 Eidgah locations.” Elaborate preparations have been made for all these sites, with the deployment of around 1,100 police personnel and heightened security at various checkpoints along with additional forces to ensure comprehensive arrangements.
Preparations for Eid al-Adha involve not only the police but also multiple civic agencies collaborating to ensure uninterrupted essential services. Alwal emphasized, “This arrangement is not only the responsibility of the police; many other agencies also play an important role. Electricity supply should function properly, so we have requested the BSES and NDPL authorities.”
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has been urged to maintain cleanliness and prevent inconvenience to residents during the festivities. Alwal highlighted the significant role played by the MCD, stating, “The MCD also plays a major role, and we have asked them to ensure that, whether it is garbage or any other issue, the general public should not face any inconvenience.”
Fire service teams have been strategically positioned at various locations for immediate response to emergencies, and the Delhi Jal Board has been approached to supply water tankers where necessary. Alwal further added, “We have also requested the District Commissioner to ensure proper coordination of all these arrangements so that everything is managed smoothly.”
Extending greetings to the Muslim community, the DCP urged residents to adhere to Delhi government guidelines and cooperate with authorities. Alwal advised, “We would request our Muslim brothers and sisters not to carry out Qurbani in open areas, and to ensure that the waste is not left in public spaces. They should offer namaz as per the scheduled timings. And people should avoid rash or negligent driving.” The collaborative efforts aim to ensure a peaceful and hassle-free celebration of Eid al-Adha for the public.
