The North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) has expressed concern over the prolonged ethnic crisis in Manipur and criticized the lack of effective action by authorities. NESO Chairman Samuel B. Jyrwa emphasized the urgent need for intervention to prevent further violence and restore peace. The organization called for swift justice against perpetrators to rebuild public trust and uphold the rule of law.
NESO appealed to all communities to show restraint and work towards peace, condemning the violence that has caused immense suffering in Manipur. The student body highlighted the humanitarian impact of ongoing unrest on civilians and stressed the importance of dialogue and mutual respect in achieving lasting peace. NESO reaffirmed its commitment to peace initiatives and urged authorities to act promptly and responsibly to address the crisis.
TMP leader Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma attributed the ethnic violence in Manipur to certain politicians and called for unity among different communities for peaceful resolution. Debbarma emphasized the necessity of dialogue and cooperation to prevent further conflict and ensure a harmonious future for the state. He underscored the destructive nature of continued hostilities and shared his previous efforts to engage with diverse community representatives in Manipur.
