NFR’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, highlighted the smooth transportation of various commodities, including food grains, fertilizers, and coal, ensuring timely supply and operational efficiency. The freight traffic primarily focused on meeting the demands of Northeastern states, with Assam leading in unloading essential and non-essential commodities.
During May, significant unloading activities were reported in various states, with Assam accounting for the highest number of rakes, followed by West Bengal and Bihar. The transportation of essential commodities and industrial goods remains essential for fulfilling public needs and supporting economic activities in the region.
