Police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district have taken action against a well-known drug peddler who is currently in Bhaderwah jail. The accused, identified as Sudershan Singh alias Vishal, has been involved in multiple drug cases and was apprehended under a specific order issued in April 2026. Despite warnings, he continued supplying banned substances to local youth for profit. To curb his activities, strict measures were enforced under the PIT NDPS Act.

The investigation was led by probationary sub-inspector Rahul Jamwal, with support from station house officer Khayatimaan Khajuria, under the supervision of Deputy SP Headquarters Reasi Vishal Singh Jamwal and Additional SP Reasi Iftkhar Ahmed. The police are actively combating drug abuse through awareness programs and legal actions against offenders in Reasi district. Additionally, an Anti-Drug Helpline Number has been launched to protect informers’ identities.

The SSP emphasized that drug peddlers have no place in Reasi and urged them to reform, warning of severe consequences if they persist in harming the youth’s future.
