Nottingham Forest and FC Porto played to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League quarter-final match at Estadio do Dragao. Porto started strongly, with William Gomes scoring for Porto after an incisive passing move, but Nottingham Forest equalized in a bizarre manner when a back pass eluded the Porto goalkeeper.
Despite both teams creating chances, the score remained level at halftime. Porto had more opportunities in the second half, with Gomes coming close to scoring again, but the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Nottingham Forest’s head coach, Vitor Pereira, acknowledged Porto’s strength at home and expressed satisfaction with the draw, while Forest captain Ryan Yates praised the tactical discipline of his team in a closely contested match.
