The Isak-Muivah faction of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) claimed that security forces in Manipur were aiding Kuki militants to target Naga villages. NSCN-IM Chairman Qhehezu Tuccu accused security forces of colluding with “Kuki narco-terrorists” and allowing attacks on Naga civilians. Tuccu criticized the Government of India for using Kuki militants as proxies, violating ceasefire ground rules.
The NSCN-IM reiterated its demand for a political solution recognizing Naga rights and history. Tuccu warned against compromising Naga sovereignty for economic packages and accused the Central government of not fulfilling commitments made in the Framework Agreement. The NSCN-IM leader emphasized the exclusive rights of the Naga people over their territories and vowed to defend their land.
Tuccu highlighted the historical significance of the Naga Plebiscite, where the majority supported an independent Naga nation. Over 90 rounds of talks have taken place between the Centre and Naga groups to address the political issue. The NSCN-IM continues to advocate for a separate Naga flag and constitution, along with the integration of Naga-inhabited areas across different states and Myanmar.
