Wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Stock Exchange of India, NSEIX, has announced a partnership with the Finance Industry Development Council (FIDC) to assist non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) in raising capital at GIFT IFSC. This collaboration aims to enhance capital market access for NBFCs by facilitating fundraising through the NSEIX platform and enabling the listing of NBFC-related debt and financial instruments at GIFT City. NSEIX, an international multi-asset exchange in GIFT City, will provide access to innovative debt and equity products, supporting the perpetual funding needs of NBFC institutions.

The strategic alliance between NSEIX and FIDC seeks to offer NBFCs seamless access to fundraising opportunities at GIFT IFSC. Through this partnership, NBFCs can explore foreign currency borrowings with better tenor alignment, international bond issuances, structured debt instruments, and access to global institutional investors. V Balasubramaniam, MD and CEO of NSEIX, expressed delight in the collaboration, emphasizing the goal of providing new avenues for NBFCs to access capital, enhance liquidity, and support their expansion plans.

Mahesh Thakkar, Chairman of FIDC, highlighted the significance of the partnership for NBFCs aiming for global growth. He emphasized that the platform provided by NSEIX, along with the signed MoU, offers NBFCs the flexibility in choosing capital, currency, instruments, structures, and long-term planning options. Thakkar stressed that capital is not just money but also confidence, making the platform crucial for NBFCs with perpetual funding needs.

Located at GIFT City, NSEIX was established in 2017 and is recognized by the International Financial Services Centres Authority. The exchange boasts a market share of over 99.7% in GIFT IFSC and offers a wide range of financial products, including Indian single stock derivatives, index derivatives, currency derivatives, depository receipts, global stocks, equity shares, SPACs, REITs, InvITs, debt securities, and ESG debt securities.
