The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results of the NEET-UG 2026 exam, providing a sense of relief and joy to numerous medical aspirants nationwide. This year’s exam saw a massive turnout, with almost 20 lakh candidates appearing at over 5,400 centers in 551 cities within India and 14 international locations. Out of these, 11.21 lakh candidates have secured eligibility for undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH, and allied programs.

The examination, conducted in 13 languages, showcased the diverse participation from across the country, with female candidates outshining males yet again, constituting over 58% of the qualified candidates. Notably, women also achieved a higher pass rate compared to men, with 56.8% of female test-takers clearing the exam versus 55.1% of male candidates. The majority of top performers fall within the 17 to 19 age group, emphasizing the prevalence of young aspirants in this competitive test.

Among the achievers, 138 candidates scored above 690 out of 720, with 93% of them taking the NEET exam for the first time. Nineteen candidates surpassed the 700-mark, with the highest score of 715 jointly secured by Aryan Gupta from Punjab and Panshul Bansal from Haryana. The top rankers hail from 66 cities, with 17 candidates scoring above 705 marks representing eight states, including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana.
