The National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2026 answer key challenge window following the release of provisional answer keys for the June 21 re-test, taken by over 20 lakh students. The challenge window will be open until 11:50 p.m. on June 28, as announced by NTA on social media platform X. To challenge the answer key, a fee of Rs 200 per question will be charged by NTA, with a refund promised if the challenge is accepted.
Earlier, the NTA acknowledged the collaborative effort of seven lakh officials in ensuring an error-free exam for 20 lakh aspirants. Emphasizing unity, the NTA expressed gratitude to all involved in upholding the integrity of the medical admission test, which faced cancellation in the previous round due to irregularities. The NTA lauded the comprehensive effort on June 21, underscoring the involvement of various government bodies and the meticulous care extended to 10,000 differently-abled candidates during the successful conduct of the exam.
In a statement, the NTA recognized the massive coordination involved in conducting the exam, involving around seven lakh officials, police teams, observers, and examination staff across India, achieving the feat in a record 37 days. The NTA also thanked experts from academic institutions nationwide for their contributions in preparing multiple sets of question papers. The NTA commended the administrative machinery of the country for aligning efforts to facilitate a smooth exam day for more than 20 lakh aspirants, emphasizing unity and collaboration in the process.
Sharing insights into the scale of the re-examination, the NTA revealed that over 20 lakh candidates participated in the NEET-UG 2026 re-test across 5,440 centers in India and 14 centers abroad. The exam, conducted in 13 languages including Hindi and English, was a testament to the collective efforts that ensured its successful execution. Special attention was given to candidates with disabilities, with extensive arrangements made for over 10,000 Persons with Disabilities.
