The National Testing Agency (NTA) has unveiled the final answer key for NEET-UG 2026, facilitating the prompt announcement of results to fill over 1.36 lakh medical seats nationwide. More than 22 lakh candidates participate in NEET-UG annually, with an intake of 1.36 lakh medical students for the 2026-27 academic session. Following the re-exam on June 21, NTA published scanned OMR sheets of candidates and closed the window for challenging OMR responses.
Students who challenged the OMR responses were required to pay Rs 200 per challenge, with refunds promised if challenges were upheld. The deadline for challenging the provisional answer key had closed on June 28. NTA initiated the fee refund process for NEET-UG 2026 this month, urging students to update their bank account details on the official portal. The retest on June 21 proceeded smoothly, with NTA acknowledging the collaborative effort of seven lakh officials involved in the examination.
