Nurjahan Noorali Jamani, supported by Adani Sportsline Garv Hai, secured victory in the Women’s Class 7 category at the Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) Para Senior Table Tennis National Championship 2025–26, propelling her to the top spot in India for this class. Previously ranked World No. 12 in Class 6, Nurjahan’s move to Class 7 due to an international medical reclassification reset her global ranking to World No. 28, placing her in a more competitive field. She emerged victorious in the final by defeating Dhwani Shah 3-1 in the knockout stages.
Nurjahan, currently ranked 8th in Asia, is now targeting a Top 6 finish to secure participation in the Asian Para Games later this year. To enhance her ranking, she plans to participate in upcoming international tournaments in countries like Italy and Spain. Expressing her determination, Nurjahan stated, “I needed this win to regain momentum after the reclassification. It gives me confidence at a crucial stage. My focus now is clear: to break into the Top 6 in Asia and qualify.”
A survivor of polio since the age of five, the 39-year-old Nurjahan resumed competitive table tennis in 2022 after a hiatus and has steadily climbed the ranks. Balancing her professional role as a Junior Officer at Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) in Ahmedabad with high-performance training, she highlighted the challenge of managing work shifts alongside rigorous practice. Nurjahan credited the vital support from Garv Hai in aiding her international competition endeavors.
