Odisha BJP President, Manmohan Samal, expressed appreciation for the Union Budget, rating it 10 out of 10 for being inclusive and growth-oriented. He emphasized its benefits for all sections of society, highlighting its focus on infrastructure, connectivity, water resources, and industrial growth. Samal lauded the budget’s transformative measures and schemes aimed at achieving a ‘Viksit Bharat’ goal by 2047, underlining its emphasis on innovation and modernization.
Samal noted the budget’s significance for Odisha, with plans for 20 new waterways under the national waterways program, connecting mineral-rich areas to industrial centers. He also mentioned the announcement of a Rare Earth Corridor in Odisha to boost production and create employment opportunities. The establishment of the National Institute of Design in eastern India was highlighted as a development accelerator for Odisha, with special support for coastal areas’ agriculture.
The budget also allocates resources for the development of Tier-II and Tier-III cities in Odisha, aiming to foster economic growth in seven major cities. Samal dismissed criticism from opposition leaders, including Naveen Patnaik, attributing it to political motives. He praised the forward-looking nature of the budget, foreseeing strengthened growth potential for Odisha and positioning the state as a leading one in the country.
