Majhi underscored the profound impact of cinema as a reflection of a nation’s essence, stating that quality filmmaking can elevate a society’s global identity. He urged the Odia film industry to embrace its distinctiveness grounded in Odisha’s rich cultural tapestry rather than imitating others, encouraging the creation of original content that resonates with local audiences.
The Chief Minister outlined various thematic elements such as Odisha’s historical connections to Lord Jagannath, its maritime legacy, tribal traditions, and societal resilience during natural calamities as potential storytelling avenues for Odia cinema.
