Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has instructed the police administration to uphold law and order during the upcoming Ram Navami celebrations on March 27. In a high-level meeting, he stressed the importance of maintaining strict vigilance and effective management to ensure a peaceful observance of the festival across the state. The Chief Minister highlighted the significance of Ram Navami, emphasizing the need for devotees in Odisha to celebrate the festival without fear or inconvenience.
The Chief Minister directed officials to implement similar security arrangements as in 2025, including the deployment of adequate police forces and ensuring proper coordination. He also underscored the smooth conduct of processions and the overall maintenance of public order during the celebrations. Ram Navami is widely celebrated in Odisha, with devotees participating in religious rituals, prayers, and cultural events.
The meeting, attended by senior officials including Advisor to the Chief Minister Prakash Mishra and Director General of Police Y B Khurania, aimed at ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for the festivities. Hindu organizations in Odisha traditionally organize processions accompanied by music and community gatherings during Ram Navami. Thanks to the extensive security measures by the Odisha Police, there have been no major communal disturbances reported in recent years.
