Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi showcased his government’s accomplishments in various sectors like infrastructure, industry, women empowerment, and cultural initiatives as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government marked two years in power. He emphasized the state’s progress towards the vision of a “Samruddha Odisha” by 2036 during a press conference at Lok Seva Bhawan. Under the BJP-led government, Odisha introduced 121 new schemes and initiatives in the past two years, aiming to propel the state towards a prosperous future.
Chief Minister Majhi detailed key achievements in women’s empowerment, agricultural development, infrastructure enhancement, education, and industrial growth. Notable initiatives such as Subhadra, Mukhyamantri Kanya Bibaha, and Kanya Sumangala Yojana were highlighted to underscore the government’s commitment to empowering women. Additionally, over four lakh Self-Help Groups (SHGs) received subsidized bank loans totaling Rs 38,795 crore, contributing to economic empowerment.
Majhi emphasized the state’s focus on elevating farmers’ status by implementing measures to bolster the agricultural sector. The introduction of schemes like Samruddha Krushak Yojana and Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana aimed at supporting farmers and ensuring food security for beneficiaries. Furthermore, the government announced free education from Kindergarten to Postgraduate level in Odisha, underscoring its commitment to accessible education for all.
In the healthcare sector, the Chief Minister highlighted the successful implementation of Ayushman Bharat-Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana, benefiting millions across the nation. Odisha’s substantial investments in infrastructure, amounting to Rs 72,100 crore in the current budget, were noted as crucial for the state’s development. The government’s efforts to attract investments, securing proposals worth Rs 20 lakh crore, were highlighted as pivotal for Odisha’s economic growth.
