Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi of Odisha announced the commencement of a new industrial era in the state, with industrial proposals worth nearly Rs 20 lakh crore in progress for setting up new industries. Inaugurating India’s first Flat Rolled Products (FRP) aluminium unit at Hindalco Industries Limited’s Aditya Aluminium plant in Sambalpur district, CM Majhi projected the creation of around 15 lakh new jobs in Odisha once these proposals materialize.

The FRP aluminium unit, established with an investment of Rs 26,996 crore, is anticipated to provide employment for 5012 individuals, thereby enhancing downstream manufacturing and opening up new livelihood avenues in the area. Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the transformation of Western Odisha into a center of top-notch manufacturing, symbolizing confidence, discipline, and enterprise, moving away from forests and farmlands.

Stressing the pivotal role of workers in Odisha’s industrial success, CM Majhi praised their commitment, ensuring continuous production and unhindered progress. He underscored that true development is gauged not just by investments or declarations but by tangible improvements in people’s lives, youth employment, family security, and enhanced education and healthcare facilities.

Focusing on the industrial advancements in the western regions of the state, the Chief Minister highlighted the emergence of Western Odisha as a global industrial hub, blending world-class investments with people-centric growth strategies. The state’s objective is to create job opportunities locally, bolster MSMEs, promote value-added and eco-friendly manufacturing, and guarantee that as the industry flourishes, every household, village, and young individual progresses alongside it.

CM Majhi urged the populace to embrace industries wholeheartedly, as they form the cornerstone of a prosperous future. Additionally, he inaugurated the 25th edition of the CII Enterprise Odisha Exhibition 2026 in Rourkela, where leading companies are exhibiting their capabilities, innovations, and industrial success stories, underscoring Odisha’s industrial potential and investment prospects.
