Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has conveyed his greetings to everyone on the commencement of the annual Rath Yatra from Thursday. He urged devotees in Puri to observe the festival with discipline and adherence to regulations. Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the significance of the event, welcoming all visitors to partake in the celebrations responsibly.
In a separate message, Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik also extended his best wishes for Rath Yatra, urging devotees to participate with devotion and surrender. The revered Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath is a world-renowned event, set to begin with the deities’ journey to the Gundicha Temple. Security measures in Puri have been intensified, with dynamic traffic arrangements and a significant deployment of police personnel and Central Armed Police Forces.
To ensure smooth traffic flow, Odisha Police have implemented comprehensive traffic plans and installed numerous signages for public convenience. Over 13,000 police officers, along with Central Armed Police Forces, will be on duty during the festival. Additionally, the Indian Coast Guard and the Indian Navy will be vigilant along the coastal route to prevent any illicit activities. The state government has also enhanced surveillance with CCTV cameras, LED screens for information dissemination, and improved communication services for the devotees.
