Odisha’s Chief Secretary, Anu Garg, instructed district collectors to focus on developing each district as an economic hub and a growth engine for underdeveloped areas. During a virtual meeting, Garg emphasized the importance of ensuring smooth administrative operations and closely monitoring the progress of key developmental projects in their respective districts.

She directed the collectors to work towards transforming their districts into economic growth zones in alignment with the vision of “Odisha Vision.” Garg also highlighted the significance of effectively implementing various schemes and programs, urging the identification of top 25 projects in each district for regular review. Additionally, she stressed the need for rigorous monitoring of major drinking water projects and prioritizing them during district visits.

Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Deoranjan Kumar Singh announced the scheduling of monthly meetings with district collectors on the 16th of every month. Discussions during the meeting included the management of District Mineral Foundation (DMF) funds and progress updates on District Science Centres, Planetarium projects, and welfare initiatives for construction workers. The meeting also addressed the implementation of various development and social welfare projects statewide.
