Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi recently launched and laid foundation stones for 71 projects totaling over Rs 1,900 crore in Keonjhar. These projects encompass various sectors like education, infrastructure, healthcare, and tourism in the district. The initiatives include schools, hostels, irrigation facilities, road construction, and more to enhance the overall development of Keonjhar.
During the event, CM Majhi initiated the establishment of a Regional Plant Resource Centre with an investment of Rs 50 crore and 147 model Anganwadi centers costing Rs 38.22 crore. Additionally, block-level stadiums in six blocks were announced with an investment of Rs 101 crore. The inauguration also featured the opening of ACRs, ICT labs, and boundary walls in various locations, amounting to Rs 21.50 crore.
Furthermore, a Nicholson Forest Training School was set up in Champua with an investment of Rs 14 crore. The inauguration also included the launch of the DMF Khani Shakti skill training center, aimed at providing skill development opportunities to local youth in mining areas, at a cost of Rs 9.60 crore. The Chief Minister highlighted the Maa Tarini Temple Development Project, emphasizing its role in propelling Keonjhar’s development.
CM Majhi expressed optimism about Keonjhar’s potential to emerge as a significant steel hub, with plans for extensive road upgrades and the construction of a ring road in Barbil. He projected Keonjhar to become one of the state’s leading districts within the next three to four years. The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering balanced regional development across Odisha.
