Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed his appreciation for the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs’ sanction of the Rs 8,300-crore Coastal Highway project from Rameshwar to Paradeep. He highlighted the project’s significance in boosting Odisha’s coastal economy, enhancing regional connectivity, and fostering socio-economic progress in the area.
CM Majhi, via social media, hailed the commencement of a new phase in Odisha’s infrastructure development with the approval of the Rs 8,300-crore Coastal Highway project. This initiative, covering vital coastal districts of the state, aims to improve connectivity, reduce travel time by approximately 2.5 hours, and open up avenues for tourism, commerce, logistics, and economic advancement.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the Coastal Highway will expedite the evolution of Odisha’s coastal economy, strengthen regional connectivity, and enhance the living standards of millions of residents. It mirrors the Indian government’s unwavering dedication to constructing top-tier infrastructure in Odisha.
Majhi also conveyed gratitude on behalf of the people of Odisha to PM Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for their unwavering support and dedication to the state’s progress and prosperity. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by PM Modi, recently greenlit the construction of the new Coastal Highway from Rameshwar to Paradeep in Odisha on the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), encompassing two segments totaling 160.18 km and costing Rs 8,300.79 crore.
