Responding to media queries, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar stated that he did not invite the Odisha Congress MLAs who are currently staying at a resort in Ramanagara. The MLAs reportedly expressed interest in visiting Mysuru, and arrangements were made for their stay in Bengaluru.
Shivakumar mentioned that the MLAs sought to meet him during the ongoing Assembly session but he advised them to wait until the session concludes. He emphasized that ensuring no cross-voting during the Rajya Sabha elections is a standard party procedure across states.
The move to accommodate the Odisha MLAs in Bengaluru is seen as a precaution against potential cross-voting in the upcoming Rajya Sabha election. The legislators, including Mangu Khila, Appala Swamy, Rajan Ekka, and Ashok Kumar, were brought under the supervision of Shivakumar to Bengaluru from Bhubaneswar.
Amid concerns over possible cross-voting, the Congress party decided to shift its Odisha MLAs to Bengaluru, where they are currently staying at the Wonderla Resort in Ramanagara district.
