In a significant move, the Odisha government sanctioned 23 industrial projects totaling Rs 4,510.65 crore. These projects received approval during the 145th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg. The approved projects are anticipated to create 10,122 job opportunities, playing a crucial role in fostering economic growth and solidifying Odisha’s position as a prominent industrial hub in eastern India.
The state government emphasized its strategic emphasis on employment-driven industrialization, sectoral diversification, and regional parity, in line with the national vision of Purvodaya. By attracting investments in various sectors, both established and emerging, Odisha is positioning itself as a key catalyst for industrial advancement in the eastern region. The approved projects encompass a broad range of industries, including Wood-based Industries, Chemicals, Apparel, Technical Textiles, Pharmaceuticals, and more, showcasing the state’s commitment to developing a resilient and innovation-oriented industrial landscape.
These projects will be executed across eleven districts, ensuring a balanced regional growth and enhanced industrial presence throughout the state. Notable investments include a pharmaceutical product manufacturing unit in Cuttack with an investment of Rs 236.90 crore, creating 549 job opportunities, and a Sulphuric Acid Plant in Jagatsinghpur with an investment of Rs 425 crore. The government’s vision of Samruddha Odisha 2036 aims to propel Odisha into a leading industrial and economic force in eastern India, contributing significantly to the nation’s economic progress.
