Odisha’s tableau took center stage at the national parade in Kartavya Path, New Delhi, during the 77th Republic Day celebrations. The theme ‘Samruddhi Ka Mantra, Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ highlighted Odisha’s significant role in fostering self-reliant India through indigenous production and sustainable development.
The tableau portrayed Odisha’s progress by integrating agricultural prosperity, cultural heritage, modern industry, innovation, skill development, and advanced technology. It emphasized the state’s utilization of natural resources, human capital, and technological capabilities to contribute to India’s social and economic advancement.
Designed as the lower part of Lord Jagannath’s chariot, the front of the tableau symbolized Odisha’s spiritual and cultural roots. It featured elements showcasing women’s empowerment, agricultural excellence, high-tech manufacturing, and the state’s architectural and artistic legacy.
Live demonstrations on the tableau deck highlighted stone carving, Sabai grass handicrafts, and Pipili applique work, while cultural performances of Odia folk dances added vibrancy to the display, emphasizing Odisha’s cultural richness and contribution to a self-reliant India.
