At the Vidyashree Solvent Plant in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna district, a boiler explosion led to a massive fire, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries. Officials, including SDM Rahul Siladia and CSP Devendra Singh, responded to the scene to assess the situation. The cause of the explosion will be determined after a technical inquiry, focusing on maintenance records, operating pressure, and adherence to safety protocols.
Experts will also investigate safety compliance, plant licensing, factory permits, boiler certification, and fire safety clearances as part of the ongoing investigation. Tragically, a machine operator was caught in the flames and succumbed to the injuries. The victim’s identity is yet to be disclosed. Senior officials have initiated an investigation at the site, with the injured individuals receiving medical attention at Satna district hospital.
The plant, situated within a rice mill complex owned by local bullion trader Saurabh Jain, was engaged in producing rice bran oil from paddy husks. The explosion caused panic in the vicinity, prompting residents to evacuate their homes due to encroaching flames. Following the incident, residents protested briefly, demanding stringent actions and safety assessments for industrial units near residential areas. Police intervened to resolve the blockade and restore normal traffic flow, with further updates pending.
