The Munich leg of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Rifle/Pistol will kick off with two finals in the men’s 10m Air Pistol and 10m Air Rifle events. A total of 696 athletes from 80 countries, including Olympic and world champions, will participate in this prestigious event at OlympiaschieBanlage in Germany. The Indian squad, comprising a mix of experience and youth, will face tough competition from elite rifle and pistol shooters worldwide.
The 22-member Indian squad includes four debutants at the senior level – Suraj Sharma, Sakshi Padekar, Ajendra Singh Chauhan, and Udhayveer Sidhu, who is making his senior World Cup debut in an Olympic event. Additionally, 13 Indian athletes will compete in Munich for ranking points, adding to the country’s representation on the global stage. World Champion Samrat Rana will lead the Indian challenge in the 10m Air Pistol event alongside Sharvan Kumar and debutant Ajendra Singh Chauhan.
In the 10m Air Pistol event, Indian shooters will face tough competition from top international contenders such as China’s Hu Kai, German legend Christian Reitz, and other accomplished marksmen from around the world. The event will see the participation of 153 athletes vying for top honors. Indian shooters like Samrat Rana, Sharvan Kumar, and Ajendra Singh Chauhan are geared up to showcase their skills and compete against some of the best pistol marksmen globally.
The Indian challenge in the 10m Air Rifle Men event will be led by Olympian Arjun Babuta, supported by former Junior World champion Parth Rakesh Mane and Shahu Tushar Mane. The competition will feature a strong field of renowned rifle shooters, including Sheng Lihao of China and World Champion Maximilian Dallinger of Germany. Indian shooters Rudrankksh Patil and Himanshu Dhillon will also aim to secure ranking points in this highly competitive event.
The qualification rounds for the 10m Air Pistol and Air Rifle events are scheduled to begin at specific times, with the finals set to take place later in the day. The event will witness intense competition and skillful displays of marksmanship as athletes strive for top honors in their respective categories. Additionally, other shooting events like the 25m Pistol women precision stage and the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women elimination are also lined up for the opening day of the Munich leg of the ISSF World Cup.
